HowToBuyCarbonCredits is a guide for anyone who wants to buy carbon credits well: individuals, small businesses, company sustainability teams, students and investors. We explain what you’re buying, how to check it and how to talk about it honestly, starting from one rule: reduce first, then offset.
Who runs this site
The site is run by Agochar Tech LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in IndiaSource 1 and based in Rajkot. Our pages are written and kept up to date by our editorial team.
What we cover
- Buying guides. How to buy credits as an individual, a small business or a company, and where to buy them.
- Quality. How to verify a credit in a public registry and spot common scams.
- Learn. The basics, from what a carbon credit is to how the market works.
- Prices and tools. Price ranges with their sources, and calculators for your footprint, flights and the number of credits you need.
Every page answers its main question first, cites primary sources for its facts, and shows when it was last reviewed.
Our relationship with BuyCarbonOffsets.org
Agochar Tech LLP also runs BuyCarbonOffsets.org, an online offset shop and resellerSource 1. In plain words: when you buy credits there, the company behind this guide earns money.
Because of that:
- Every page links to our disclosure from its footer.
- In our provider comparisons it is marked “Our shop” and is judged on the same criteria as every other provider.
- Our pages on investing in carbon credits never carry links to it.
Our disclosure sets out the details.
How we make money
- Sales at BuyCarbonOffsets.org. Some pages link to it when you’re ready to buy.
- Advertising. We may show Google ads on some informational pages. We never show them on buying guides, tools, these trust pages or any page that leads with a buy button.
No provider pays to be listed or ranked in our comparisons.
How we keep our guides fair
Our editorial policy explains how we choose sources, review pages, compare providers and correct mistakes. Commercial goals don’t decide what our pages say about quality, prices or claims.
